The Provincial Training Center—Zamboanga Sibugay conducted an ongoing skills training program for Masonry NC I under the Training for Work Scholarship Program (TWSP) by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) with a total of 25 beneficiaries. These trainees were provided with free training, training support funds, and free assessment and certifications, ensuring a holistic learning experience without financial burden. The training aimed to equip individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge in masonry, paving the way for better employment opportunities in the construction industry.
The training was conducted at the construction site of the Provincial Training Center—Zamboanga Sibugay Building, located in Poblacion, Titay, Zamboanga Sibugay, and led by our experienced and dedicated trainer, Mr. Danny Boy Lagait.
The training was conducted through a training-cum-production constructing the PTC building for the trainees to gain hands-on experience in a practical setting, contributing to a more comprehensive understanding of masonry techniques and practices.

A groundbreaking step toward transforming the workforce in Zamboanga Sibugay took place on January 15, 2025, as TESDA Provincial Director Adrian Ampong, along with PTC Zamboanga Sibugay Administrator Ferdinand Melicor, led negotiations with 2M Construction in Ipil for a possible partnership under the Dual Training System (DTS). This innovative program, established by the DTS Act of 1994, combines in-school education with in-plant training, giving students the chance to gain practical, hands-on experience while earning their credentials. Designed to boost employability, the DTS focuses on equipping graduates with the technical skills, critical thinking, and strong work ethic that employers demand.
For TESDA, this partnership is a major win, fostering public-private cooperation to create a skilled workforce ready to meet the needs of the booming construction industry. For students, it offers a clear path to career success, blending education with real-world experience that enhances their job readiness and marketability.
By bridging the gap between learning and employment, this collaboration promises to shape the future of both local industries and the next generation of workers.
